FAQ
Your questions answered
Are kids allowed?
We love your kids but thought you might like some time alone to relax, do something good for your body and your nervous system. No kids under the age of 15 are allowed at sundaymood Bali.
What are infrared saunas?
Infrared saunas are different from traditional saunas that use heated stones to create a hot atmosphere. An infrared sauna uses invisible infrared wavelengths to heat your core body temperature from within. This makes for a much more gentle and comfortable sauna experience. The infrared wavelengths penetrate deep into the body making it a more potent approach to releasing build-up of unwanted toxins in your system.
What does the sauna feel like?
Infrared heat is very gentle. The experience is similar to lying in the sun on a warm day and feeling the heat radiate to the core of your body. FAR infrared waves penetrate 1-3 inches below the skin's surface to heat the body.
For the first 10 minutes, you feel warmth surrounding you as well as heat from the infrared panels. Soon after you will begin to sweat and halfway through the session you will most likely break a full-body sweat. You may lower the pod or fully exit the pod at any time if you begin to feel too warm or lightheaded.
What are the benefits of infrared saunas?
We love incorporating infrared sauna sessions into our self-care routine because of the many health benefits. Some of the benefits include, but are not limited to:
- detoxification
- weight loss
- skin health
- anti-aging
- immune boosting
- pain relief
- recovery
- stress reduction
- improved circulation
- water retention
Are the infrared sauna rooms private?
Yes!
Our infrared sauna rooms are 100% private to offer you the most relaxing experience.
What is the temperature of the sauna?
Unlike traditional (hot rock or steam) saunas – which operate in excess of 90°C – infrared heat has the benefit of being effective at a more comfortable operating temperature of 65°C-75°C.
We do not recommend changing the sauna temperature manually. If you get too hot simply open the door for a few minutes.
What if I get too hot?
Each infrared sauna is a Solo Pod for individual use located in a private room. If you become too hot, you can simply push the door open to cool down your body or you can get out of the pod entirely.
We also provide water in the pod if you become dehydrated, dizzy or uncomfortable.
Should I shower mid-way through my session?
We do not recommend showering mid-way through your session. Infrared saunas are dry saunas and water can easily damage them. We request that you please be seated on a towel throughout the duration of your session and be mindful of water inside the saunas.
Should you wish you shower mid-way through a session we kindly ask you dry off completely before re-entering the sauna.
When should I arrive for my appointment?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment to check in and get changed in the changing rooms. Arriving early also helps you to fully relax and naturally prepare your body to start winding down.
How long is a session?
You have the room for a total of 45 minutes - the sauna is set for 40 minutes and you have 5 minutes to get ready and leave the private room towards the changing rooms.
As we require time to prepare the space for the next client, we recommend that you keep an eye on the timer in your room. If you arrive late for your session, time will be deducted from your session.
Can I bring a friend to my infrared sauna session?
Alone time is so needed in our society, but if you want to share your sauna experience with a friend, our saunas can accommodate up to 3 people. If you choose to bring a friend, we charge an extra IDR 100.000 per person.

What do I wear during my session at sundaymood Bali?
Many sauna goers believe the Finns, who are responsible for the invention of the sauna experience as we know it, have it right when they say a sauna should be enjoyed in the nude. It will certainly help you to receive the full benefits of the infrared rays. Otherwise, we recommend wearing your bikini or boardshorts.
What should I not wear in the infrared sauna?
✺ Don’t wear dirty clothing – the heat may cause the dirt to loosen from the fabric and enter the air. This could cause skin breakouts and will spread germs.
✺ Do not wear workout clothing – PVC or spandex clothing will prevent airflow and could release chemicals into the air at high temperatures.
✺ Remove all jewelry before entering the sauna – metal can get quite hot in the sauna and could burn your skin.
How should I prepare for an infrared sauna session?
Drink plenty of water - so you feel well hydrated - prior to your session. It is important to stay well hydrated before and after your infrared sauna session. Wear loose clothing to change into after the completion of your session as the post-sauna-sweat is real!
Do you have shower facilities?
Yes, we have showers!
We invite you to simply move across to the designated shower & locker room for your post-sauna rinse. All of our infrared sauna studios provide you with natural and organic products to wash with.
How are the saunas cleaned and maintained?
The saunas are thoroughly wiped down and cleaned between each infrared sauna session. Our infrared saunas are made with Canadian cedar wood, which is also a natural antibacterial. Infrared lighting and the high sauna temperature are also natural disinfectants.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from 7am - 9pm |
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Using an infrared sauna is perfectly safe for children, however we do require anyone under the age of 16 years old to be assisted by an adult.

How often can I use the sauna?
Most people use the sauna 3-4 times a week, but it is safe to use every day if you take care of proper re-hydration and consult with your physician.
Does infrared technology interfere with implants (metal, silicone, etc.)?
Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system. Please consult your physician prior to using an infrared sauna.
What about EMF radiation - is it harmful?
At sundaymood we provide you with the industry’s best and most advanced infrared saunas from Clearlight's Sanctuary Yoga Full Spectrum Collection. Our saunas are designed mindfully.
